Payment Policy
This Payment Policy sets out how you can pay for an order on YourCarpet.com, what is included in the price you see, and how your payment details are handled.
Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods at checkout:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Cartes Bancaires
- Apple Pay
- Google Pay
- Link
- PayPal
- SEPA Direct Debit
- Bancontact
- EPS
- Przelewy24
- BLIK

- MobilePay
- TWINT

- WeChat Pay
Which of these appear at checkout depends on your country and the currency of your order — some methods are only available in the country that issued them.
All payments are processed securely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not store your full card details on our own servers.
Currency
All prices are displayed and charged in Euros (EUR).
Pricing and Tax
All prices shown include applicable tax (VAT). The total shown at checkout is the final price — there is no additional tax or charge collected on delivery, for any destination.
When Payment Is Taken
If you pay by card, wallet or PayPal, the full amount is taken the moment you confirm the payment, and your bank may first ask you to approve it in its own app. Not every method above is instant: a SEPA bank debit or a Multibanco reference can take several days to clear. With those, your order is recorded straight away and marked as processing, and we confirm it once the money actually arrives.
Security
Checkout runs over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Your card number, expiry date and security code are typed into fields that belong to Stripe rather than to us: they go straight from your browser to Stripe, never pass through our servers, and we could not read them even if we wanted to. What does come back to us once a payment succeeds is the card's brand and its last four digits — enough to identify the payment on your order and to process a refund against it, and not enough to charge anything. We never keep a card on file for reuse.
Because Stripe is the party that has to decide whether a payment is genuine, it also screens for fraud. To do that, Stripe's scripts collect signals about the device and the session — browser and device characteristics, and indicators of how the page is being used — and check them against the patterns it sees across its network. This is what stops a stolen card being used on our shop, and it is the reason a payment can occasionally be declined even when the card details are correct. Stripe acts as its own data controller for this, under its privacy policy.
Stripe's scripts load only once you move from your cart into the payment step, never while you are browsing the shop. Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what they store in your browser and for how long.
Business Orders
If you are buying on behalf of a company, you can add your company name, VAT/Tax ID and billing address at checkout. Those details are recorded against your order and printed on the confirmation we email you, which also shows the VAT included in the total. One thing to be clear about, because it is easy to assume otherwise: the price does not change. We do not apply an intra-EU reverse charge at checkout, so a business pays the same VAT-inclusive amount as a private customer. If your accounts need a formal invoice document, write to us with your order number and we will take care of it.
