A rare classical Persian design of dramatic, curved saber-like leaves sweeping among palmettes and vines, associated with 16th–17th century "vase technique" carpets from Kerman. It holds the world auction record for any carpet: the Clark sickle-leaf carpet sold at Sotheby's in 2013 for 33.8 million dollars, more than tripling the previous record and placing carpets firmly in the territory of masterpiece art.
