A rug in the classic style of Ushak (Uşak), a Turkish weaving city: soft floral all-over or medallion layouts in muted, antique-looking colors. Rugs sold under the name today are commonly hand-knotted in Pakistan, where workshops reproduce Turkish and old Persian patterns in wool on a cotton foundation, with vegetable dyes, an antique wash, a short-cut pile and several shades of one color for an aged look. Depending on design and knot density, the same family is also sold as Peshawar, Chobi, Ziegler or Ferahan.
